Being a leader in a male-dominated industry has stretched, challenged, and broken me into carving out my own unique leadership style. I thought I had to fit into the “boys club” if I was going to be successful but this just left me feeling divided from my authentic self – I didn’t know who I was anymore. Through a lot of introspection and learning from various leaders, I’ve reconciled within myself — if I was going to be a great leader, I had to be genuine and authentic.
I had to embrace and integrate both the feminine and the masculine aspects of leadership in order to lead with integrity, honesty, and loyalty. Leadership is a way of being and I have never taken for granted my role as I am honoured for the people I get to lead and learn from – they make me a better leadHER.
